In-Game Trades
Classic FRLG trades matter for dex completion and can shortcut otherwise awkward acquisition paths.
In-game trades are especially worth preserving in the guide system because they are easy to forget, version-sensitive in feel, and often overlap with collection goals rather than story progression.
Memorable trade outcomes
- Mr. Mime can arrive through an in-game trade instead of a normal catch path.
- Farfetch'd, Jynx, and Lickitung trades create alternate collection shortcuts.
- Trade references are good candidates for future checklist widgets.
