Terms of Service
Last updated September 9, 2026
These are the rules for using PokéTracker. Using the service means agreeing to them. They are written to be read, not to be skipped.
What this is
PokéTracker is a free, fan-made tool for tracking a Pokémon collection: Pokédexes, shiny hunts, teams, and trades between players. It is not a game, it does not connect to any Pokémon game, and nothing you record here has any effect on anything inside a game.
Your account
- You need a working email address, and you are responsible for keeping your password to yourself.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate someone else, and do not pick a username designed to look like them.
- You must be 13 or older.
- Tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
What you post
You keep ownership of everything you write here — your notes, your comments, your profile, your Pokédexes. By posting it publicly you give us permission to store and display it as part of running the service, and nothing more than that.
Do not post:
- anything that harasses, threatens or abuses another person;
- hate speech, or content targeting someone for who they are;
- sexual content involving minors, or anything else illegal;
- someone else's personal information;
- spam, advertising, or links to malware;
- anything that infringes someone else's copyright.
Trading
Trades are arranged here and happen inside the games, where this service cannot see them. We do not verify, guarantee or mediate any trade, and we cannot recover anything lost in one. Do not offer or ask for real money, and be careful who you share a friend code with.
Using it fairly
Scraping the site, automating it, or trying to get around its rate limits or security is not allowed — not because the data is precious, but because the bill for it is real. If you want the Pokémon reference data, take it from PokéAPI, which is where it came from and which is set up to serve it.
Moderation
Content that breaks these rules can be removed, and an account that keeps breaking them can be suspended — which stops it posting while leaving everything in it intact, so it can be undone. An account is only deleted outright for serious or repeated abuse. A suspended account can still export its data and close itself; a moderation decision is not a reason to hold on to someone's collection.
If you think a decision was wrong, write to the address below.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We may close an account for serious breach of these terms, and we may stop running the service — with notice and enough time to export your data.
The honest part about guarantees
This is a free service run by one person. It is provided as-is, with no warranty. There will be downtime, there will be bugs, and data can be lost. Backups are taken and tested, but do not treat PokéTracker as the only record of anything you care about — you can export your data at any time, and if it matters to you, do. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from using it.
Not affiliated with Nintendo
Pokémon and all related names are trademarks of Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc. and The Pokémon Company. PokéTracker is an unofficial fan project with no affiliation with, endorsement from, or sponsorship by any of them. Sprites and reference data are used for identification in a non-commercial fan tool.
Which law applies
PokéTracker is run from North Carolina in the United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts sitting in North Carolina are where a dispute about them is heard.
Anyone is welcome to use the service from anywhere. This section does not take away a consumer or data protection right that the law of your own country gives you and does not let you sign away.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top changes with them, and if a change materially affects your rights, account holders are told in the app or by email before it takes effect.
